Big Girl Bed!!!
Brooklyn spent her first night in a big girl bed last night.
We had no major issues. She got out once, then just played till she fell asleep like normal. (I didn't sleep good though cause I was too worried about her falling out or something.) We set it up good though. That is a spare crib-mattress underneath to protect her in case she does fall.
Her nap this afternoon..... lets just say wasn't as easy. I put her in, tucked her and her dolls in and she said goodnight. I heard noises, went in... I COULDN'T FIND HER! I knew she was in there, I check the closet, behind her kitchen, the usual places. I was calling her name, then she poked her head out from under her crib/bed and said "boo" in a quiet unsure voice cause she new she was in trouble. Then she scrambled back in bed. This happened a second time, and that time she cried. For about 30 seconds till she found her thumb and her ear and she was out. I hope my big girl can get the hang of this! She keeps proving to me that she is ready to be a big girl. Gotta love her!

Nice! Congrats! The crib that we are currently looking at doubles as a toddler bed like yours.

We are really excited to have fun stories like this soon. :-)

It takes awhile to get them to sleep in the bed, but it sounds like you had a good start.

For the first couple of weeks, Joylyn would get up all the time, and then when she finally fell asleep it would be on the floor in front of the door.

That's way too brave!

Do you know what? Syd slept in the crib until she was 3 :)

I wish I could. But Rick isn't going to go out and buy another crib (she is too long for the porta-crib) and we need to be consistant! She did great tonight. Only hid underneath once!

I had to move Jake to a big boy bed when he was about 18 months. He learned to climb out and I was terrified that he would break his little arms. He did really well though!

Thank goodness Mallory hasn't even figured out she can climb!

Mallory Horch, I just heard you in my head! You said, "I do too know I can climb!" I miss you!!
